ITS has been working on a few updates that should make your upcoming semester a bit smoother.

vLab

We’ve made a big update to vLab, boosting its reliability. Now, you can have an entire class using vLab simultaneously without any performance hiccups! If you’re not familiar, vLab is a remote computer lab loaded with all the software you might need for your courses. It allows even basic laptops to run resource-heavy apps like Photoshop or ArcGIS Pro and lets students access licensed academic software from home. You can use vLab via the web, or download the client (recommended) for Windows, Mac, or from the Cal Poly Humboldt Software Center. The client supports multiple monitors!

ClassShare

ClassShare is a file storage and sharing service, like Google Drive, but faster and more convenient for large data sets. You can request a file share for your whole class, which syncs with both vLab and the physical computer labs. ClassShare simplifies uploading and downloading for an entire class with impressive speed and a shared directory with curated permissions.
