Course Equity Portal Presentation
CSU Faculty representatives of the Chancellor's Office, Heidi Riggio and Desdemona Cardoza, will be presenting a Course Equity Portal (CEP) to our campus during our regularly scheduled University Senate Meeting on Tuesday, September 26th with a Time Certain of 4:00 PM. This is a tool which enables CSU faculty to examine possible equity gaps in their courses as demonstrated by differences in DFW rates by underrepresented minority, Pell recipient, or first-generation status, and by gender. Unlike the CSU Student Success Dashboard, the CEP allows faculty to examine equity gaps in their own courses, confidentially (no one else has access to a faculty member’s course information as it appears in the portal). Over the past two years, a team of CSU faculty, ASCSU senators, and staff from the CO Student Success Office have been working on improving the tool by pilot testing it with faculty on several CSU campuses (Los Angeles, Monterey Bay, Pomona, San Jose, San Luis Obispo, San Marcos). We would like to invite faculty to attend this presentation to learn more about this tool, ask questions, and provide feedback to the CEP team, as Cal Poly Humboldt’s Office of Academic Affairs is interested in joining in the rollout of this potentially impactful mechanism.
The University Senate meeting is in Goodwin Forum or on Zoom at this link:
