I am delighted to update the campus regarding a leadership change for the Retention through Academic Mentoring Program (RAMP) that occurred over the summer. Please join me in welcoming Samantha (Sammi) Martinez to the role of Program Coordinator who was hired after an internal search early in the summer. Sammi grew up in Hoopa, CA and is of Tiwa Pueblo (Toas, NM) descent. Sammi received a BA in Mathematics from Humboldt and is a proud alum of Humboldt's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Indian Natural Resources, Science & Engineering Program (INRSEP), and Indian Tribal & Educational Personnel Program (ITEPP). She has dedicated much of her career to helping Humboldt students find community and purpose in college.  She joins us with nearly seven years of experience as the First Year RAMP Coordinator, and nearly 10 years working in student support services. I am excited to have her as a member of the Academic Programs leadership team and looking forward to her leadership contributions for our university.
