Sabbatical and Difference-in-Pay Leave Eligibility – Academic Year 2017/18
The list of faculty eligible to apply for sabbatical leave to be taken during academic year 2017/18 is posted at: http://www.humboldt.edu/aps/policies/leaves.html. The process of recommending and awarding sabbatical leaves is governed by University policy and by Article 27 of the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement: http://www2.humboldt.edu/aps/bargaining.html.

Sabbatical applications for the 2017/18 academic year must be submitted electronically to your Dean/Director, your Department Chair, and Academic Personnel Services (aps@humboldt.edu) by the close of business (5:00 pm) Monday, October 3, 2016.
To apply, complete the current Form 320: Sabbatical Leave Application, located at: https://www2.humboldt.edu/forms/content/sabbatical-leave-application. All application materials must be received by the October 3rd deadline to be considered on time. No late applications will be considered.
Please note that only those faculty unit employees who have been approved for a sabbatical leave will be required to submit notarized documents (Certification Page/Promissory Note). These documents are not needed at the time the application is submitted. If your leave request is approved, you will be required to submit appropriate notarized documentation.
Difference-In-Pay (DIP) Leave
The list of faculty eligible to apply for a Difference-in-Pay leave to be taken during academic year 2017/18 is posted at: http://www.humboldt.edu/aps/policies/leaves.html. The process of recommending and awarding Difference-In-Pay Leave is governed by University policy and by Article 28 of the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement: http://www2.humboldt.edu/aps/bargaining.html. Difference-In-Pay Leave applications are reviewed by a Department committee of tenured faculty members rather than the University Professional Leave Committee. The College and University Library Deans have been delegated the authority to review and approve DIP leaves. Please contact their offices directly for information about procedures and deadlines.
