Mathematics Colloquium ~ November 4

December 3, 2014

Hello, Math Students and all interested parties:
Please join us for the weekly Mathematics Colloquium:December 4 at 4 p.m. BSS 204. His talk is titled: Colorectal Cancer Screening and the Simplest Random Variables with Dr. Joseph Carroll, MD and PhD (mathematics).

We look at initial screening for colorectal cancer by dichotomous (two-valued) tests on the stool.   The dichotomous test is just a random variable with two outcomes, and analysis of the sequential test requires knowledge about the correlation of the two tests used.

Don't forget coffee, tea and goodies at the Pre-Colloquium Tea at 3:30 in the 3rd Floor Open Area in the BSS building.
