Veterans Enrollment & Transition Services (VETS) Department Updates

January 11, 2021

Dear Campus Community, it is my joy to share that Kim Hall is retiring from HSU! Kim has been a dedicated professional here at HSU for 36 years and has dedicated her time to the veteran and the military-affiliated community. She was been determined to increase access and resources for the veteran community and in her time here worked to create the Veterans Enrollment and Transition Services (VETS) department here at HSU. From a dream to a reality, now the VETS program services hundreds of veterans and their dependents and is a resource hub and a safe space for this community (with its own dedicated physical space!). She has impacted so many students on our campus and in our community with her professional work and personal dedication. Please join me in congratulating Kim in her retirement.

That being said, Kim will not be gone for long. She will be working over the next two months to help introduce our new VETS Coordinator, Clifford LaMastus! Cliff joins us from Eureka Vet Center where he was a Veteran’s Outreach Program Specialist. Prior to that, he worked at College of the Redwoods in their VETS Office. Cliff is a veteran himself and brings years of personal and professional experience to this position. I will be working with Cliff to get him to meet with the various offices on campus that he will work most closely with but in the meantime, while we are still virtual, feel free to introduce yourself and welcome our newest member of the HSU family by contacting him at Cliff.LaMastus@humboldt.edu.
