COVID-19 Financial Tracking

To support timely and comprehensive tracking of financial activities and impacts related to COVID-19, including purchasing, loss tracking, and personnel time tracking, a COVID-19 Financial Tracking webpage has been developed to provide a single campus access point for financial tracking forms and resources. We will continue to update this webpage as new information is received and process updates are made.

Office Phone Communication Guidelines

Humboldt State University is working to ensure our students, employees, and the community can access the assistance they need in a timely manner. This requires consistent use of phone and email systems, as described below. 

  • With a virtual campus operation, HSU staff should check their office phone voicemail at least once an hour, and more frequently if needed, during normal University business hours. Please be sure to respond to all incoming calls within 24-48 hours. To check your voicemails:

Coronavirus Information and Updates

Humboldt State University is monitoring the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and closely working with, and following stringent guidelines from, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), State of California, and Humboldt County health agencies. 

  • There are no confirmed or reported cases at HSU.

  • Classes, assignments, and exams are canceled on March 23-25

Spring Break Elevator Improvements

Facilities Management has scheduled improvements to various campus elevators over spring break. Elevators will be out of service during their scheduled time while improvements are being made to equipment.

Free Immigration Legal Services, March 4th - 6th

On March 4th, 5th, and 6th, the legal team from CHIRLA (Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights, LA) will be visiting campus and providing free in-person legal consultations to any member of the HSU community (students, staff, faculty and their family members).   This service is provided through the ongoing collaboration with the CSU Chancellor's Office, the California Department of Social Services, CHIRLA, and HSU.

Reminder: Provide Feedback on Gender Inclusive Restrooms

Recommendations of the Gender Inclusive Restroom (GIRR) Task Force are now available for viewing at The GIRR was established in spring 2019 out of a student initiative to increase gender-inclusive restrooms on HSU’s campus. The recommendations include the construction of new restrooms and the conversion of existing select men’s and women's restrooms to gender-inclusive.

Extended Hours for Student Health & Wellbeing Services

Beginning March 4, 2020, Student Health & Wellbeing Services will be offering extended hours for HSU students each Wednesday evening through 7 pm for walk-in medical and counseling appointments.  Check the Student Health Center and/or the Counseling & Psychological Services websites for further details.  Note, pharmacy services will not be available during evening hours.

Reserved Parking for Home Basketball Game Thursday

In support of our HSU Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, Parking & Commuter Services will be reserving (4) stalls in lot FS51 (Faculty/Staff Lot adjacent to the Marine Wildlife Care Center) and the service stall in G50 (the lot just north of FS51 and south of the Kinesiology & Athletics Building) from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. for the teams and officials.  The remaining game for the season is scheduled to take place on the following Thursday evening:

All vehicles parked in the above mentioned reserved areas will be cited.
