Key 2019-20 Fiscal Year-End Deadlines

The University is in its final quarter of the fiscal year. We are committed to processing all financial documents in a timely manner. To ensure that all departments register their expenses in the appropriate fiscal year, we're providing a memo (see attachment) of key fiscal year-end deadlines to help you meet your department's needs.

You can also find the memo on the Accounting website at: humboldt.edu/financialservices/accounting.

Academic Master Plan Webinars

Please join the ICC’s Subcommittee on Academic Master Planning (AMP) for our first series of campus-wide academic master plan webinars.  In these hour-long sessions we will engage in focused conversations around our academic mission and priorities.  This work will help guide the AMP committee as it builds out a structure for academic master planning procedures which we will work through next fall. We are looking forward to learning from each other throughout this process as we chart our future.

Plans for Celebrating the Class of 2020

Plans are underway for celebrating the Class of 2020 in a virtual ceremony on Saturday, May 16, which will include a video for each College with messages from President Jackson and others. While we still hope an in-person ceremony will be feasible, possibly next spring, we are focusing for now on celebrating students’ achievements in an alternative way.

Social Media Guidelines, Videos, and Accessibility

As HSU continues to evolve its virtual operations, it’s important we ensure that social media images and videos are accessible for all people of all abilities, and that HSU's social media guidelines are followed on all HSU-affiliated social media channels. Before you click "Post," ask yourself if everybody will be able to enjoy it.

OUTSTANDING STUDENT AWARDS

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the recent  shelter-in-place, the Outstanding Student Award in-person ceremony has been canceled.  But while the pandemic may have pushed the event off the calendar until 2021, we are committed to spotlighting our amazing students.

Donate Sewn Face Coverings for Students

As you know, students have been encouraged to wear face coverings to protect themselves and others from possibly spreading covid-19.

HSU faculty and staff have generously given 100 sewn cloth face coverings to students so far. Forever Humboldt is now coordinating an effort to provide all students with at least one face covering and asking the campus community for donations of sewn cloth face coverings.

Your HSU Online Events on the Virtual Quad

In order to promote and share online events, HSU has created the “Virtual Quad.”

This is a place to share HSU-related virtual gatherings, including lectures, club activities, performances, and more. Please help the campus community stay connected by sharing your activities. It’s one way we can all continue to learn and have fun.
