Laurel Drive Sidewalk Work

Beginning Monday, October 21, 2019 continuing through Friday October 25, 2019, the sidewalk section just east of Brett Harte House will be closed, as well a small section of sidewalk near the B Street and Laurel Drive intersection. 

The seismic retrofit contractor will be working on completing these two remaining sections of sidewalk in preparation for final paving work in this area.  

All of the second floor Gist Hall entrances on the north side of the building will be open again starting on Monday (10/21/19) morning and throughout the week.

Retaining the Office of Independent Review Group

Campus Community, 

Humboldt State University takes the recent allegations by employees about University Police Chief Donn Peterson seriously.

As part of our response, the University has retained the OIR Group (Office of Independent Review) to investigate the allegations, complaints, and any related matters. OIR Group is led by some of the nation's leading experts on police practices and oversight. We’re looking forward to working with this established and well-respected law enforcement assessment firm. 

Quarterly Review of Active Space Requests

Quarterly review of active Space Requests are planned for the current and upcoming Academic years as space becomes available. The University Space & Facilities Advisory Committee (USFAC) will soon be reviewing space requests submitted via the Campus "Space Request Form". This form may be filled out by any department, organization, or college, and submitted anytime throughout the year.

Gist Hall North Entrance Ramp Closure

Beginning Wednesday October 16, 2019 continuing through Tuesday October 22, 2019, the western half of the sidewalk on the north side of Gist Hall will be closed.  

Campus-wide Transition to Concur by January 1st

Dear campus partners,

By January 1st, 2020, all faculty and staff will fully transition to the Concur Travel and Expense program for state-funded travel. This means that paper travel authorizations, travel advances, and their associated expense claims will be facilitated through Concur.

Green & Gold Room Reservation Changes

The University Center will no longer be managing reservations for the Green & Gold room. Reservations will now be managed by Facilities Management.

Reservation requests should now be submitted through 25Live (https://25live.collegenet.com).  For more information regarding this change, please see the Facilities Management web page.

Farewell to Dr. Cheryl Johnson

Dear HSU Colleagues,

It is with mixed emotion that I write to inform you that Dr. Cheryl Johnson, Executive Director for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) has accepted a position to become the new Dean of Equity and Student Support with Skyline College within the San Mateo Community College District. Cheryl's final day on campus will be October 11, 2019.

Open Enrollment – Final Reminder – All Changes/Enrollments Must Be Made By October 4 at 5pm

The CSU annual Open Enrollment period for 2020 will be September 9, 2019 through October 4, 2019. Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to review and update your current benefits for the 2020 calendar year. You can enroll, change, or cancel CalPERS health, dental, vision plan or Flexcash, enroll for the first time or re-enroll in Dependent Care Reimbursement (DCRA), Health Care Reimbursement (HCRA) or voluntary benefit plans. The effective date for all changes/enrollments made during the Open Enrollment period will be January 1, 2020.
