HSU unConference Schedule for October 23

Presentations by faculty, staff and students. All presentations will be 3-7 minutes long, with time at each half hour to talk to the presenters and share your ideas too.

Come for half an hour or two and a half hours!

Lunch and snacks are provided - please bring your own mug for drinks.

International Education Week: Date Change/Call for Speakers & Panels

International Education Week has shifted to Spring semester and will take place next year 15th-19th February. Last year we had approximately 50 events and nearly 1,000 attendees across the week with all three colleges participating.

Women, Wealth & Wisdom

Get the tools for planning, investing and making a difference. Sponsored by Leave a Legacy Humboldt, this one-day event includes workshops and panel discussions on: understanding the investing landscape, asset management, estate planning, and the pivotal role of women as game changers in our community. Thursday, Oct. 29, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fortuna River Lodge. The fee is $55 (includes catered lunch).

The unConference is a casual forum for faculty, staff, and students to come together and share ideas about their expertise, interests and other exciting topics. This Fall our theme is No, Low, High Tech.


Lengthy demonstrations are not the point! All presentations will be between 3 and 7 minutes. Have brief discussions with and meet others on campus who are excited about similar topics.


Create an Extended Education or OLLI spring 2016 course

Leverage your expertise and interests: offer educational opportunities to students and our communities through OLLI or Extended Education.


HSU Faculty Showcase

Join your colleagues in sharing and learning about new teaching and learning strategies, networking, reflecting on our work, and finding out about new CSU initiatives. Throughout the Showcase, faculty will share their work in programs such as the Course Redesign with Technology, Virtual Labs, Quality Online Learning and Teaching (QOLT), Faculty Learning Communities, HSU Sustainable Learning, and others.

This is an “open house” format, feel free to drop in any time.
