Campus Housing Move-In Information and Volunteer Sign Up

Dear Colleagues:

It's that time again to plan on welcoming back all our student for Housing's Move-In Days, Saturday, August 17 and Monday, August 19.

Housing relies upon our campus volunteers from many departments to help us out with filling about 31 time slots for Parking Monitors over the two move-in days.  Housing will provide a training overview closer to the actual move-in days. Housing also provides lunches for those that work a full day (2 shifts).

Cultural Humility Learning Session

Attend this session, hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, to discuss and reflect on what cultural humility means. Open to HSU and community partners. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided. Will be held at the Arcata Community Center on July 20 from 9 - 1 pm.

Upcoming Concrete Work - HSU Library Circle

The City of Arcata will be installing a new concrete pad for an ADA accessible bus stop near the existing bus stop at the Library Circle. Work will begin next week, 7/8/19.

Soil removal is scheduled to occur on 7/10/19 (Wednesday), and everything should be completed by 7/12/19 (Friday). Please see drawing attached.

This new concrete pad will make possible the installation of an additional bus shelter at the Library Circle. The contractor is taking care to perform the work in a way that will not interfere with bus/transit access.

HSU Professional Development Newsletter - July 2019

This month inside HSU Professional Development Newsletter:

Invest in Yourself

Here at HSU, the summer pace is often less rigorous and we have time to think about those aspects of our work that we neglect during busier months. This month we have put together a series of articles, a book, and a video to help you reflect on your own personal and professional development: what do you need to be the best you can be?
