Ombudsperson Announcement

Open until filled. Application Screening Begins: January 14, 2015

Applications and nominations are being sought for a three-year (Spring 2015 through Summer 2018) appointment of a University Ombudsperson. The vacant position is one of two ombudsperson positions on this campus. It includes 4 WTU's of release time each semester, and it is restricted to a current tenured member of the university faculty. The applicant should not be a member of any university personnel committee. Some summer work is expected.

Canvas? or Moodle?

HSU has been investigating Canvas as a possible alternative to our Moodle learning management system. Eight faculty are teaching their courses using Canvas Fall term, and they and their students are documenting their experiences using this software.On Thursday, January 15th at 3:45pm in KBR, immediately following the Institute for Student Success, there will be a presentation and discussion about faculty experiences in both Canvas and Moodle.

Deadline for Applications:  February 17, 2015

The Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP) provides an opportunity for retiring eligible tenured faculty unit employees to continue to work at the university at a reduced load for up to 5 consecutive years.  This program is governed by the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement, Article 29.

We have a guest visiting campus next week, Monday, December 8th. 

Irene Kamotsky, Ph.D., Director of Strategic Initiatives, from Bepress will visit and present two platforms we are interested in evaluating, if interested, we welcome faculty, staff, and students to join us and hear your feedback. Please share with colleagues. 

2015 CSU STUDENT RESEARCH COMPETITION

29th Annual CSU Student Research Competition

The Office of Research, Economic & Community Development is pleased to announce the 2015 CSU Student Research Competition.  Students must submit a written summary of their research or creative presentations to the Office of Research by Monday, February 2, 2015.  If selected, students will compete at CSU San Bernardino on May 1 or 2, 2015.
