Gomez, Executive Director, CSU STEM-NET. You can either register and view it on your own, or come participate with our staff in SBS 405. Light refreshments will be served.

Ilyasah Shabazz Speaks at HSU

Humboldt State University, in continuing the celebration of Black Liberation Month, is hosting Ilyasah Shabazz as a featured speaker. She will be discussing topics from her book Growing Up X: A Memoir by the Daughter of Malcolm X on Wednesday, Feb 12 at 6pm in the Great Hall on the HSU Campus. Moderated by Dr. Ramona Bell, Professor in Critical Race, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Free copies of Shabazz’s book will be distributed to the first 100 students. Tickets are free and available at the UC Ticket Office (707) 826-3928.

CSUPERB: 2020 Presidents' Commission Scholars Program - Deadline February 18, 2020

This is a reminder that CSUPERB is currently accepting proposals for the 2020 Presidents' Commission Scholars Program.

The Presidents' Commission Scholars program will make $8,000 grants to CSU student/faculty teams. Six thousand dollars will be provided as a student scholarship to support academic/living expenses to allow a full-time commitment to the experience. The remaining two thousand dollars can provide support to the faculty mentor's research program.

 

Proposal Deadline: Tuesday, February 18, 2020 before 5:00 p.m. pacific time

MENTAL HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS GRANT AWARDED TO HSU-CAPS

On January 9, 2020, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) received the wonderful news that they had been awarded, through the CSU Office of the Chancellor, a $150,000 Mental Health Partnerships Grant under the California Budget Act of 2019.  Included in this grant was a highly competitive $25,000 award for an “innovative pilot project” as well as the maximum award available ($125,000) for “encouraged activities.”  The main grant will be spent a variety of ways:
