Expect Airfare Prices to Increase

Effective June 30, 2017, United Airlines is no longer a contracted carrier for the State of California. United Airlines flights will still be available to state travelers but will no longer offer the discounted prices. Please review the attached Travel Bulletin for further detail.

If you will be flying on official university business from a different locations outside of this local area, the following airlines offer discount airfares for university employees:

Four States Added to the Travel Ban for AB 1887

On January 5, 2017 there was a myHumboldt portal announcement made to campus titled “Prohibition on State-Funded and State-Sponsored Travel to States with Discriminatory Laws,” which explained Assembly Bill No. 1887 regarding banning state-funded and state-sponsored travel as California’s way to taking action to avoid supporting or financing discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

Avoiding Unconscious Bias in the Hiring Process Training Summer Schedule - Update

Staff and Faculty members are required to take the "Avoiding Unconscious Bias in the Hiring Process" training every two years before participating in a hiring search committee.  

If your training status in not current, you have the opportunity to take the workshop on the following dates:

  • June 22, 2017 from 9 - 11 AM @ Goodwin Forum
  • July 19, 2017 from 1- 3 PM @ Goodwin Forum
  • August 8, 2017 from 9- 11 AM @ Green & Gold Room
